24 September 2008

- Meeting began at 5:15pm.
- We began discussing the travel details for attending “Race for the Cure”.
- Mr. Ditton discussed his expectations for AAS members in the squadron due to a lack of accountability.
- We are expected to be involved, meet suspenses, and communicate.
- An expectation agreement form was passed out and signed by all, confirming their understanding of Mr. Ditton’s expectations.
- If you were absent from the meeting, (excused or unexcused) you will need to read and sign the form. They will be in the absent members’ boxes. The suspense for signing the sheet is Tuesday, September 30th. Please place them in Mr. Schmidt’s box.
- OSP (Operation Squadron Pride)
- We have decided that as Ennis C. Whitehead Squadron, we need to be proud of who we are.
- We are creating a motto, a shield, a pennant, t-shirts, and holding morale events in order to boost the pride of our organization.
- Each member is responsible for coming up with a squadron motto, and emailing it Mr. Ditton. The suspense for this is the 3rd of October, 2008.
- We voted on a name for the Ennis C. Whitehead Squadron due to the full accountability of the meeting.
- We are now the Ennis C. Whitehead Squadron Peg legs!
- We are also beginning to work on an AAS corner in the TAR. This will include a group photo, along with our shield, and pennant.
- Bylaws
- 4 resolutions were proposed to amend the bylaws.
- Resolution 1: Formal amendments must be written in order to change the bylaws. – Passed
- Resolution 2: Veteran’s Day will no longer be a requirement to be fulfilled by AAS, as stated in the original bylaws. – Passed
- Resolution 3: Throughout the bylaws, the Director of Operations title will now be changed to Operations Officer. – Passed
- Resolution 4: Continuity will now be mandatory and standardized, and can be reviewed by the Information Manager at any time, as long as 2 weeks notice has been given. – Passed
- 4 resolutions were proposed to amend the bylaws.
- We discussed our expectations for the upcoming candidate class. Mr. Hufford conveyed some of his thoughts and plans for this semester’s class.
- ARCON is going to be $100 per person, excluding travel.
- Veteran’s Day is the same weekend as ARCON.
- We tabled the discussion, and will attend to it at a later date.
- Jared Coones RunWalk.
- AAS is opening up the event to the entire detachment.
- It is going to be a $20 sign up fee.
- Meeting adjourned at 6:00pm.

The Ennis C. Whitehead Squadron is located at The University of Kansas. It is part of
Okay, Peg Legs, seems we’ve got ourselves some pride to work on. I’ll see what I can do about the motto, etc.
Not that I’m totally impressed, but this is a lot more than I expected when I stumpled upon a link on Furl telling that the info is awesome. Thanks.
